The BCBGeneration Women’s BG Eileen Slouch Boot is an interesting looking knee high boot with a 17’’’ shaft for small calves and some nice accents. The makers invite women to “elevate your look in such special ways”, which suggests that they have created a stylish, perhaps multifunctional boot. There are many women that appear to have achieved this by adding some sex appeal to their look on a night out. The boot is nicely shaped for a thin calf, but there is something a little off around the ankle.
These tall boots get a lot of praise for their looks
There are numerous women talking about the shape, style and the general way that they feel when wearing these boots. Some even compare them to more high-end brands, without naming any names. The uppers of these boot are made from a soft suede or leather in either a strong black or a more interesting shade of oak. Then there is what the makers call the “metallic hardware” on the side. This unfortunate term actually refers to the metal buckle and studs on the ankle. Wearers feel that this really does add to the sexy feel of these boots, especially the gold on black. There is something a little more casual about the oak option, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t as attractive in its own way. This “sexy” feel also has a lot to do with the shape of the boot. The pointed toe, tapered 4’’ heel and shape around the foot is immediately feminine and attractive. The problem is that the combination of the shape and material can have its drawbacks.
It may offer a good fit on thin calves, but there are still some fit and comfort issues holding this boot back a little.
Overall, the fit of these boots is pretty good around the top of the calf. This is largely due to the use of elastication and a side zip. The problem comes with the fact that this is a “slouch” boot that lives up to its name. The soft material has a tendency to sag around the ankles and some feel this detracts from that sexy shape. There is also a small issue with comfort. This is definitely best used on dates and nights out because there is little protection for long-term comfort. There is a “lightly padded” footbed, but it isn’t great. Feet will ache after a few hours, but most women would say that these boot are worth a small amount of discomfort.
This “slouch” boot may not suit everyone, but it is still turning a lot of heads
The issues with the fit and the line of the boot are going to be a problem for those with narrow calves that want a knee length boot that shows off their slim legs. However, this does not mean that many skinny calved women won’t find a great fit and a great look. 91% of buyers said that this fitted as expected and there are many receiving compliments from partners, co-workers and even strangers. In the end, there is still lot of potential in this BCBGeneration Women’s BG Eileen Slouch Boot for a great night out.
